I'm getting a new mp3 player ...?
iAUDIO 7 + AKG K518DJ

I'm getting a new mp3 player. It's contemporary to be touchscreen but I don't need/can't afford the ipod touch. I'm in between the: Samsung P3 , Cowon S9, Latte Espresso, or Iriver P7,

Any recommendations would be crucial if you have the device:D [not the ipod touch]
* should i wait for the ZUNE HD ?

You've answered mine and ill answered urs now! ive as a matter of fact thinking about the espresso, but if you dont want it there are other options. you are going to think this is a joke, but Circuit Borough is open again! NO BULL lol! go to circuitcity.com and they have like a crapload of deals, seriously i went there and they had this 8gb, 4.3 inch touchscreen pattern with a microSD card slot. sick. anyway there you are and go check out circuit city since the deals are literally inconceivable.

My computer doesn't let me copy files on either of my mp3 players. Why not?
Piggy with iAUDIO 7 + SoundMAGIC PL11

In the middle of coping, the computer stops letting me duplicate to the mp3 player. Then it won't even connect to the computer.

Do you think that's a problem with my Sansa View or Cowon A3 or just my computer?
I already formated the device and it sometimes lets me facsimile one song at a time, but i got the mp3 player to allow me to copy any thing i want to. If I can only copy files that are less than 5mb, that ruins the mp3 player. I was skilful to copy 500mb to the sansa so only the cowon a3 isn't letting me copy.

The sansa still doesn't connect sometimes.

iTouch-similar/comparable devices?
Teddy with iAUDIO 7 + AKG K518DJ

So, I lust after an iTouch. However, there are a few things I don't like about the Apple devices. I currently have a 4th gen. Nano and it's alright but it's certainly NOT the most adroitly imo. I also have a Creative Zen now and I like that one a LOT more, simply due to how easy it is to import music.
Some things I don't like about the Apple devices:
You can't "augment" the memory. You can with the Zen and with a few other mp3's.
Also, for Apple devices, you must use iTunes for EVERYTHING. I don't like iTunes. I don't find it very user-friendly at all. I have a lot of music on my Windows Media Player and I have to bring in and convert and all that mess. With the Zen I just click it once, and it's in. The Creative Zen is also "compatible" with RealPlayer and other multimedia devices.

So, what I'm looking is for things that are compatible with the iTouch. What devices are out there that have ---
Wi-Fi, Lots of span or a way you can add more memory, and which you don't have to use iTunes.
I don't care about games or extra stuff. I just want a device that I can put a LOT of music from disparate places and some internet access. I know that the prices range from $200 - $500.

I just want a few ideas to go with. I like the iTouch and the apps accessible but I just don't find it to be as user-friendly. Here are some others I've heard of...
Cowon O2, Creative Zen, Zune
Any reviews on these? Thanks for suggestions.
I use Windows Media Player John! yeah i am a PC purchaser but I'm getting better I just don't like that Apple has all things through iTunes.

orthodox PC user...

jk but seriously iTunes is really user friendly. and who the he(ll uses windows media player?

Compare the two mp3 players?

The end of the standalone MP3 player? Examiner.com

Prone the many methods of listening to your own library on the go, might the MP3 player be coming to an end?

With the rise in capabilities of phones, are other devices in jeopardy likely to be of dissapearing? Smartphones have pretty much already replaced PDAs as users find it's much easier to carry a take device, as opposed to both. Now phones are adding music playing capabilities, web browsing, cameras, etc. But in my perception they are still too far away from replacing laptops and cameras. MP3 players are another story; the only thing that prevents sum up take over is battery life.

Phones (some, excluding Sony Ericsson phones and the first-generation iPhone) commonly allow a port for use of any headphone set you'd like. Some phone are even dedicated to such functions as alternative music players - such as the LG Chocolate, Motorola RkR, LG Cadence, Nokia Xpress, the complete line of Sony Ericsson Walkman phones, among others. The only fad that significantly separates the MP3 players to their phone counterpart is the battery life. I have found that depending on the specific phone the music players uses the battery substantially faster than a standalone MP3 player; about twice as secured. In figures, we're talking about 4 to 6 hrs. compared to an average of 12 hours on most MP3 players I have owned (namely the iPod niggle second genration). So, what about your car? You can now link your iPods directly with included adapters, or any other brand through assistant input. Surely the phone could not replace that. Bluetooth? You will need a charger on your car for that phone as you goad. The threat (so to speak) lives in built in harddrive based libraries. Systems that concede you to burn your discs directly to it. So can these two changes eliminate the need for a standalone MP3 player? After all, the largest rage has been shifted to cell phones. Yet, it seems as though the answer, judging from manufacturers, is not for a while. How about making sure the quarrel is practically nonexistent - think iPod vs. iPhone Touch. Direct online music, other than what you have in your player, although you extremity WiFi; such as Slacker - think Sony Walkman X or Cowon S9. Time will tell if the blurring of lines will at last lead to the end of the MP3 player.
